Crewing Chevalier Floatels for “New Suez Canal” Project

Atlas Professionals reached a new milestone in cooperation with one of its clients; Chevalier Floatels. Last week in Riga (Latvia), Marcel Roelofs from Chevalier Floatels and Paul Steeghs from Atlas signed a contract to provide a full crew to the recently acquired and re-commissioned accommodation barge Rossini. “Our relationship with Chevalier Floatels goes back many years”, says Atlas’ Commercial Director Paul Steeghs. “The full crewing service we provide to their two floatels, DP Gezina and DP Galyna, has led to a unique relationship between our companies. Chevalier regards us not as a mere supplier, but as a partner that is an extension to their own organisation. When they added Rossini to their fleet the choice for Atlas came naturally.”

Through its offices in Latvia and Ukraine, Atlas will supply the full engineering and catering crew to the barge. Currently the barge is on her way to Egypt where she will take a part in the Suez Canal expansion project. Marcel Roelofs General Manager at Chevalier Floatels explains their relationship with Atlas. “Having worked with Atlas for many years now, the additional contract with them shows our satisfaction. Chevalier Floatels is very pleased to sign a crewing agreement with Atlas. Rossini will be accommodating professionals responsible for the construction of the new Suez Canal,” says Marcel Roelofs, “Chevalier’s fleet is growing; with two new hotel barges added to the fleet this proves the success of our concept. Chevalier Floatels is one of the leading parties in the floating accommodation market. We have recently added to our fleet two DP2 Walk to Work vessels and four accommodation barges.”

Charterer of the latest Chevalier vessel is Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering NV (DEME), also an Atlas client. Marcel Roelofs explains, “Rossini quickly also found a new customer DEME. We would like to wish DEME success in the project and we like to thank them for the trust in our company.”
