Den Oever Dike Reinforcement Contract for Van Oord

Hollands Noorderkwartier Regional Water Board (HHNK) has awarded the dike reinforcement project Den Oever in the north of the Netherlands to Van Oord. The work is set to begin in 2017 and will continue until 2019, Van Ord said in the announcement. The project, part of the Dutch Flood Protection Program, will encompass the design and the reinforcement of 900 meters of dike. Read More
Middensluiseiland Set for Expansion

The Middensluiseiland island will be significantly expanded over the next month, and the area between the lock heads will soon again comprise fully recovered land. The contractor will be using this land for the cement production facility, which will manufacture all the cement required for construction work. A Ro-Ro facility in this section of the Middensluiseiland island is used to unload equipment and materials onto the shore. Read More

Boskalis acquires USD 40 million contract for transporting Johan Sverdrup platform modules

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has been awarded a contract by Samsung Heavy Industries for the transportation of the three topside modules of the riser platform and the topside of the processing platform for the Johan Sverdrup project offshore Norway. Dutch Dredging’s New TSHD Mahury Commissioned

Baggerbedrijf de Boer – Dutch Dredging has officially commissioned the company’s new trailing suction hopper dredger Mahury. The 1,840m³ twin-screw TSHD – built at IHC’s partner shipyard MTG Dolphin in Varna, Bulgaria – is the fourth TSHD of Dutch Dredging built by IHC, following the Albatros, Amazone and Lesse. Dutch Dredging named the vessel after its tradition of reusing the names of sold or scrapped ships. Read More
